Welcome to our new members. I’m so glad you have joined us and on your way to your best life.
We had a great call yesterday exploring how important it is to understand how to think about Surrender and Acceptance with respect to our relationship with ourselves and our addiction. For those of you who weren’t able to attend, I hope you will watch the replay and do your own journalling on this topic.
Here are a few tips I shared to practice more acceptance:
1. Pay attention to how you are thinking about yourself or others – bring awareness
2. Refocus on what is positive about any difficult situation
3. Avoid the rigidity of right/wrong – create space for people to be different
4. Don’t judge yourself or others– practice kindness; cut yourself some slack
5. Be present – when you stay in the moment, everything is just fine
6. Remind yourself that you are ok just the way you are – especially the fact that you are a person in recovery
Don’t forget there is an assignment under “Get Started” on the Welcome page. Once you complete it, please tell us your date and what you commit to doing to protect it.
Have a wonderful day and I look forward to our next call. Sue
